Posted By Administration, Wednesday, April 13, 2016
Spring is just around the corner and it’s the perfect time of year to get those kiddos outdoors and active! Did you know that PAMP offers events designed for kids of different ages? This month’s membership tips article will highlight events that are fun for the older kids in your family.

Super Soccer Stars takes place every Sunday and is designed for kids up to age 7. Bring your future star to Mitchell Park to learn the game from scratch or hone skills in a fun, non-competitive environment, featuring a low coach-to-player ratio.

The My Gym Siblings Class meets bi-weekly and welcomes children up to age 6, along with their siblings. This fun class promotes movement and creative learning, as well as encouraging positive family interactions.

Do you have a child whose eyes light up every time a fire truck rushes by? Do they go running at the sound of sirens? PAMP offers Firehouse Tours on a quarterly basis of different area firehouses. Kids up to age 10 are welcome to get an up-close look at the big, red engines, ask a firefighter questions and get see what life is like at a real fire station. Since some tours require that participants be at least 4 years old, this is also an ideal outing just for older siblings.

The PAMP Family Farm days are one of our newest events. The whole family is invited to spend a fun-filled morning at Pastorino Farms by Half Moon Bay. The farm is open to PAMP members only and kids of all ages will enjoy a wide range of farm-activities. Pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses and hayrides are just a few of the things that await you at the farm.

Also one of PAMP’s newest offerings, our Bounce house events are another great way to meet other PAMP families and let your kids work out some serious energy! Kids of all ages can bounce to their heart’s content and catch their breath while listening to a story time or other live entertainment during the event.

Finally PAMP’s annual Family Day welcomes the whole family for a fun day of food, live entertainment and a wide range of kid’s activities. This event takes place every summer and is sure to please children at all stages of development.

As always, be sure to look for all of the above events on the PAMP calendar. We hope to see you and your child soon at one of them!

Membership Tips – How to Volunteer with PAMP

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, April 5, 2016
Have you ever considered volunteering for PAMP, but are not sure how? Then this membership tips article is for you!

PAMP is dedicated to being the premier parents’ club in the peninsula area. We strive to offer fun and informative events, active and valuable online forums, special interest workshops and many other opportunities for our families to connect.

To make these programs a success, PAMP counts on the volunteer contributions from you — our member base! We recognize that each one of you brings unique skills and knowledge to PAMP.

While volunteering is not a requirement of your PAMP membership, we strongly encourage all of our members to contribute in a way that works best for you and your family. Would you like to attend one of our paid events for free and get to know other attendees at the same time? Then you may want to consider being an event host!

Whether it’s a one-time event, such as our recent Financial Planning Workshop, or an ongoing role, such as a PNO (Parent’s Night Out) host, hosting is a fun and easy way to volunteer and mingle with other members at the same time. Our upcoming “Bounce into the New Year” event might be the perfect opportunity for you to volunteer; if you volunteer for one of the event shifts, you and your family get to attend the other shift for free!

Perhaps you would like an opportunity to hone your writing skills. PAMP is always looking for members who would like to contribute to the news articles or blog postings featured on our website.

Do you love planning and organizing? Then perhaps a seat on one of our committees would be for you! From events to engagement to membership and outreach, there are many areas that our committees serve that help shape PAMP’s future direction.

Some of our long-term volunteer positions are even eligible for a discounted membership fee. These roles typically require a few hours of commitment a month in exchange for half off of the regular membership price.

PAMP is truly appreciative of any and all support our members are able to offer. We couldn’t do what we do without your help! You may find volunteer opportunities on our website, and also look for postings and emails from our Volunteer Manager on the PAMP forums. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering, email the Volunteer Manager.

Membership Tips — Parents’ Night Out

Posted By Communications Manager, Tuesday, March 22, 2016

It’s been an exhausting week with the kids. You and your partner just found a new babysitter from a fellow PAMP member and you are ready for a night out. Now we’d like to tell you a little bit more about the type of events we offer. This month, it’s Parents’ Night Out!

PAMP organizes Parents’ Night Out (PNO) for our members once a month. These adults-only events are a great way to get to know other PAMP members without having to take a time-out to retrieve a dropped pacifier, wipe a runny nose or open yet another package of cheddar bunnies. Imagine a few hours of stimulating, adult conversation over a glass of wine or taking in a show at a local theater with friends. Past PNO’s have included wine-tastings, yoga classes, a theater outing and even a glass-blowing class. You are welcome to attend solo or with your significant other!

Do you have a great idea for a new Parents’ Night Out? Email and one of our PNO host’s will take it into consideration for a future event. We are always looking for fun suggestions from our members. PNO’s take place on a weekend or during the evening to facilitate attendance for all of our members.

PNO is a PAMP subsidized event, meaning that PAMP negotiates a group discount for attendees and then pays half of the cost of the event. For example, April’s PNO was a wine-tasting held at Savvy Cellar. Normally, the group rate would be $40/person, but for PAMP attendees, the cost was only $20.

So book that babysitter, look for “PNO” on the PAMP event calendar and join us for our next amazing PNO. This month it’s stand-up paddleboarding!
