Community Event - GatePath Math Workshop

Join us for an engaging hands-on workshop to address early Elementary mathematic difficulties facilitated by Anna Johnson, M.S. Ed., of ToDo Math. Funded by the Betty Ivey Lange Technology Library since 2012, the Lange Library workshops have been held at the McCarthy Center for Children and Families for several years to facilitate acccess to experts whom provide training and additional learning resources for children in the community.

Come learn and explore:

-The developmental milestones for number sense and how strong number sense supports future development of complex mathematical thinking

-Preparing the home or school environment with engaging activities/games to support mathematic learning

-All the fun ways we can help our children (toddlers - 12 years of age) learn by:

  • Exploring patterns
  • Playing with manipulatives like blocks, ten frames, number lines, montessori golden beads
  • Deck of cards
  • Family friendly board games
  • Math apps like Todo Math, Dragonbox Numbers
