I always look forward to October like no other month. The rush of back-to-school is over and by now kids seem have settled into their new routines. The stress of the holidays still feels far away. The days are getting cooler and the air is saturated with the smells of autumn foliage, pumpkins and cinnamon. I stroll down the streets in Palo Alto and take in all the vibrant colors around me, from pale yellow to bright orange and radiant red. Somehow, all of my worries seem to go away and I cannot help but feel so fortunate to be here. And then I remember that this particular October I have so much more to be proud and excited about! Some time ago, the PAMP Board, given feedback from our members, decided to move our monthly newsletter to an online format, and this month it finally came true!
If you are reading this, then I am sure you have discovered and visited our new website: www.pampclub.org. There you will find the online newsletter, along with all upcoming events, news, discounts and Club information. I encourage you to make full use of it—explore, take polls, comment on articles, and learn & share information through Facebook and Twitter! You can also get the newsletter articles and calendar events delivered straight to your inbox every month by signing up for the RSS Feed. All this could not have come to fruition without the help of many volunteers who worked long hours this summer to make this happen. On behalf of the entire PAMP community, I bow to your efforts and dedication.
I also want to extend my gratitude and admiration to the Moon Festival Team. It was truly an amazing festival thanks to the sponsorship of the International School of the Peninsula, Palo Alto Community Child Care, and UrbanSitter, as well as the partnership of dozens of other organizations, schools and businesses. Our volunteers did an outstanding job putting together this year’s Festival; it was truly a testament to the strength and community of this organization and our members. You have set an excellent example for future volunteers to follow. Thank you!
This is also an opportune time to remind everybody that we remain a volunteer-run organization and need and value your contributions—large or small! Join the leadership team, volunteer, meet some amazing people and make long-lasting friendships along the way.
