2012 Board Slate
Sandy Liu, Chair/VP At Large
I joined PAMP in 2010 when I moved to the Bay Area from Los Angeles. Upon moving, I found PAMP to be an invaluable resource and joined the PAMP Board shortly thereafter. Prior to moving, I worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as the Business Unit Manager helping to run the local Private Wealth Management group. Previously, I worked in Goldman Sachs’ Equity Research group as a Research Analyst in New York and Hong Kong. I have also worked in various business development roles at companies such as American Express and Alibaba.com. I hope to continue to help the PAMP Board make PAMP an even stronger resource for the community.
Melina Patterson, President
I joined PAMP in 2007 after my daughter was born and am incredibly grateful for all of the support and information that PAMP provides. Although I have lived in Palo Alto for over a decade, PAMP has helped me learn so much more about my community and the wonderful people who live here than I ever thought possible. For over eight years I worked as an attorney at a large law firm in Palo Alto where I honed not only my legal skills, but leadership and strategic thinking skills as well. During the 2011-2012 board term, I applied those skills to the VP of Legal position and worked collaboratively across the organization to strengthen PAMP’s infrastructure and focus. I look forward to continuing these efforts in the President’s role and to cultivate the growth of PAMP while staying faithful to the organization’s mission.
Masumi Patel, Co-Chair/Secretary
I have been an active member of PAMP since joining in 2009, most recently serving on the Board as VP of Volunteer Recruiting. I live in Mountain View with my husband and 3 1/2 year old daughter. When I’m not parenting, product managing Verizon’s FiOS service, or volunteering for PAMP, my neighborhood HOA Board, or the Womens’ Association Board at Verizon, I can be found spending time with friends or searching for airfare deals to Boston where I grew up and attended college. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Science in Telecommunications from Boston University, as well as an MBA from Babson College. I have worked at Verizon Communications in various roles for the past 14 years. I hope to contribute my professional and personal experience to help PAMP continue to be a valuable resource to the community
Jensen Chow, Treasurer
I joined PAMP in 2010, shortly after my daughter was born and I have found it to be an invaluable resource. Being new in the Bay Area and a new mother would have been really challenging without PAMP and now I’m very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to this fine organization. I am a seasoned finance and accounting professional who started my career at a Big 4 public accounting firm, stationed in Asia for about four years as a China equity analyst and returned to the US to work in corporate finance. I currently reside in Santa Clara with my husband, 2 year old daughter, 3 month old son, and our loyal dog George.
Chanden Moya, VP Small Events
I joined PAMP soon after my first son in early 2010. I live in San Jose with my wonderful husband, two sons, and two cats. I have always had a passion for volunteering as far as I can remember – starting as young as 13 as a junior volunteer at the local hospital. I have a full time day job working in finance at a software company but I have always continued to volunteer in the community. I have volunteered at numerous events for PAMP and most recently managed MNO events, Kids Activities, New Member Socials as the VP of Small Events last term. When I am not working in finance or volunteering my family and I love to be outdoors or visit family and if I ever get so lucky to have alone time I love to knit or cuddle up with a good book.
Nicky Jackson, co-VP Large Events
I recently moved to the Bay area from London with my husband and two children, Madeline (4) and Joseph (2). We are living in Palo Alto and despite only being in the country three months, I am really enjoying living here. Prior to children I worked in London for McKinsey & Company for ten years and for the past five years worked as Event Manager organising a wide range of events from small office meetings to Office Retreats. Whilst being a ‘Mummy’ I have helped with a couple of new start up companies which has kept me ‘ticking over’. I am unable to work in the US and so I am thrilled to be doing volunteering work which involves event management for PAMP. I hope that my professional and personal experience will help PAMP members enjoy the forthcoming events and welcome anyone interested in events to get involved.
Bethani Jackson, co-VP Large Events
I am the mother of 3 amazing young boys that keep me busy every moment of every single day. When not chasing around the little guys, I am self-employed as a criminal defense attorney at Jackson Law LLP, and practice throughout the entire Bay area. I have been an active member of PAMP for over 5 years and have served on the leadership committee planning various Mom’s Night Out events and as a VP-at-large on the 2011 PAMP Board of Directors. PAMP is an amazing organization and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to give back to this organization that has given me so much.
Rosanna Jackson, VP Communications
I recently moved from San Francisco to Palo Alto in search of warm weather, neighborhood schools and abundant parking. I joined PAMP in 2010 when we were planning our move and found it to be an incredible resource for finding our preschools, doctors and everything else we needed to reestablish ourselves. I’m very excited to join the PAMP team and work toward furthering the goals of the organization. Outside of PAMP I’m a driver/maid/cook for my daughter and son. Prior to honing my homemaker skills as a mom I worked in Marketing Communications for 13 years, most recently as the Senior Director of Interactive Marketing at Oracle.
Ginny Haynie, VP Online Community
Our family lives in Mountain View and is comprised of my entrepreneurial husband, myself and three very active kids. I have been a member of PAMP since moving to the Bay Area from Atlanta three years ago. PAMP has proven to be a valuable asset giving me everything from doctor reviews to information about local activities that my “native” Californian friends don’t even know about (not to mention a discount with the dry cleaner). I am so excited about joining the organization and helping to create a fantastic Online Community. I have a great love for websites and parenting so this seems like the perfect position! I have been employed as Mom for the past 11 years, but in my previous life I was a Kindergarten teacher and have a degree in Elementary Education.
Grace Chen, VP At Large
I joined PAMP after my daughter was born in 2008, the same year we moved to Los Altos from San Francisco. PAMP has been the best resource to meet people and find everything a young family could possibly need in the Bay Area. Currently I work as a lead clinical outcome analyst for Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Institute. Volunteering has always been part of my life. When I was in college in China, I volunteered as a translator every summer for 4 years to help a Japanese foundation to build elementary schools in the most deprived provinces outside of Beijing. After coming to Boston to obtain my master degree at Bentley College, I volunteered at the National Asian American Professional Association as an event organizer for many years. Since I joined PAMP, I volunteered at numerous events, and worked as the account payable person, budget analyst and the interim treasurer when our treasurer was on maternity leave. I am honored to have the opportunity to give back to this fine organization and hope to be able to use my expertise in implementing database and CRM system to build a more robust back-office system for PAMP.
