5 Questions for the Vice President of Large Events

Nicky Jackson is PAMP’s Vice President of Large Events. Her job is to make sure that the four large events — Rummage Sale, Preschool Fair, Moon Festival and Family Day — are successes. Her day-to-day role involves ensuring that we have a good committee (which includes many volunteers) for each event and that the event is planned well. Nicky has a five-year-old and a three-year-old. She and her family have lived in the area for only four months, and she is thrilled to be volunteering for PAMP.

1. What is the last non-kid movie you saw? Trespass, which I thought was a bit rubbish.

2. Are you a Bay Area native or transplant? A transplant. I’m originally from England.

3. What’s at the top of your to-do list? Going to Napa to try all the wine we have consumed so much of!

4. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character? Being a Brit, I haven’t seen Sesame Street, but I think Elmo is in the program. If so, he would be my favorite.

5. Why are you a PAMP volunteer? I was looking for something to balance out my commitment as a mum. Having previously worked in London at McKinsey & Company (a large global management consulting firm), I love the “events world.” But I can’t currently work in the U.S., so this is a great opportunity to meet people and share my expertise with other PAMP members.

Each month we train the spotlight on someone who works behind the scenes for PAMP. Interested in joining the ranks? Browse our open volunteer positions, and apply today!
