My daughter finishes preschool this month—a huge milestone achieved and a new adventure about to begin! I am excited and looking forward to that momentous first day of kindergarten in the fall, but first, there is summer. I am faced with that eternal question that all parents must answer: How do you entertain children day in and day out for an entire summer? There will definitely be pool time. And some summer camps. And trips to the park. But at some point, we will all likely come to a day when we stare at our kids and think to ourselves, “I’m all out of ideas. What in the world should we do today?”
For starters, use this summer to check out some of the kids activities that PAMP offers. PAMP’s Small Events Team strives to provide members with activities designed to entertain our children while exposing them to new and interesting things. For example, my daughter regularly participates in the PAMP-sponsored classes at My Gym, where she not only has an opportunity to play and pick up a few gymnastics tricks, but also learns to assimilate to different environments and different teaching styles. PAMP also hosts numerous art and music classes for members. For something different, join other PAMP members for Young Family Farm Time at Hidden Villa, where kids can learn about a working organic farm. Check out the list of PAMP Kids Activities on our event calendar.

Finally, the annual PAMP Family Day will be July 29 at Rengstorff Park. Watch the PAMP forum for more event details.
Have an idea for an activity? Email your suggestions to our Vice President of Small Events at email@example.com. Want to attend an event for free? Consider becoming a PAMP Kids Activities Host. Acting as a host is important but manageable volunteer commitment; sometimes it just means attending a particular event as a PAMP representative and keeping a record of attendance. What a deal! See the Support page of the PAMP website for more information or to apply for the position.
Summer also means travel for many families. Although the idea of a vacation might sound appealing initially, parents can quickly become overwhelmed by the logistics of traveling with children. Over the years, many parents have used the PAMP forum to seek advice on a variety of travel-related issues. Search our archives, and you will be amazed by the amount and the variety of advice you will find. From advice on surviving a long plane ride to suggestions for babysitters and kid-friendly activities in specific destinations, it is there. Can’t find advice that suits your particular travel plans? Ask our wise members by posting your own inquiry to the PAMP forum. Let your PAMP community improve your family vacation.
Make PAMP a part of your summer, and enjoy!
