Family-Friendly Holiday Activities Here in the Bay Area

Looking for some family- friendly activities to get you in the spirit of the holidays? There are lots of ways to experience the magic of the season here in the Bay Area.  We have a list of ideas for you!

  1. Meet a reindeer at the San Francisco Zoo. Visit the zoo for their brand-new Joy at SF Zoo event that runs weekends from November 30 to December 29, you can sip on hot cocoa, see the whimsical Sugar Plum Fairy Garden, meet Santa and more. 

  2. For your lego lovers, visit the Annual Holiday Lego Pop-Up Exhibit at the Museum of American Heritage from December 6 to January 5, 2020 to see one-of-a-kind Lego creations like train layouts, Bay Area landmarks, miniature cities and castles. 

  3. Hop on the Chanukah Train at Roaring Camp Railroads on December 26 to enjoy a lighting of the menorah, listen to holiday stories, play dreidel and nibble on kosher refreshments provided by Chabad by the Sea.

  4. Visit the life size gingerbread house at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.  Now until January 1. Details here.

  5. Attend Christmas in the Park San Jose (Opening Nov 29) Try the snowman hot chocolate, see their Christmas tree displays and enjoy other holiday spectacles!

  6. See holiday lights: Christmas Tree Lane Palo Alto (Join us for our meet up on Dec 15), Tom and Jerry’s House in Dolores Heights, 3650 21st St. San Francisco, Eucalyptus Street in San Carlos and Fantasy of Light-Los Gatos
